OUTLINE

The goal of the event is for teams to learn from each other and test themselves against a multitude of rope rescue scenarios from different disciplines; disciplines such as Wilderness, Industrial, Confined Space, Rope Access, etc.

There will be a welcome reception on the night of Sept 22, 2026.

There will be training day (Sept 23, 2026), followed by 3 days of competition scenarios (Sept 24, 25, 26, 2026). Teams will be able to use down to 9mm rope (if it is 20kN MBS and is rigged with devices or in a manner that meets a whistle stop test). Teams can also use small diameter rope system (micro-rope systems, less than 9mm) if all the users are certified in the system. Prior permission from the organization is required for micro-rope systems.

You will need 7 people on your team. This includes a Rescue Team Leader, 4 rescuer/riggers, a patient and an evaluator. The rescue team may or may not need to be able to ascend/descend rope, build lower/raising systems, build highline and reeve systems, conduct rope access to around a L2 skill set.

The rescue team will need to attend mandatory training sessions on Sept 23, 2026 for familiarization with some equipment. The patient will need to be able to ascend/descend rope, be comfortable at height and in tight spaces, etc.

On Sept 23, 2026 the patient needs to attend a mandatory training session. The evaluator needs to be an instructor level rescuer. The evaluator will become part of the event staff. The evaluator will need to attend a mandatory training session on Sept 23, 2026. The evaluator will also be evaluated and the points will become part of your teams score.
